At Indus Folk, we’re redefining the way Indian food fits into modern life. Rooted in the richness of India’s culinary heritage and reimagined for today’s pace, every bowl we serve is thoughtfully curated to be light, nourishing, and full of flavour without ever losing the comfort, warmth, and soul that make Indian food timeless.
Real Indian food. Real ingredients. Built for modern life in Singapore.
Most Indian restaurants in Singapore stick to the safe choices. Curries, Biryani, the usual suspects. There’s nothing wrong with those, but India’s food story goes so much deeper than that.
Indus Folk is a different kind of place. We’re a grain bowl restaurant featuring 6 distinct regional Indian cuisines. Each bowl is built around the spices, cooking customs, and supergrains of a specific part of India. The kind of food your grandmother made, rethought for the life you’re living now.
We challenge the idea that Indian cuisine is always oily, heavy, or hard on the gut. Every bowl here is built around balanced ingredients, mindful cooking techniques, and superfoods drawn from across the country — light enough for daily life, without losing any of the flavour.
Every recipe here has a reason. We use ancient grain like jowar as our base, not as a gimmick, but because these seeds have been healthy in India for centuries. We add adaptogens from Ayurveda, anti-inflammatory spices like turmeric and saffron, and plant proteins that Indian kitchens have always understood.
The result? Food that really nourishes you. Quick sufficient for a weekday lunch but interesting sufficient to think about on the way home.
“Food is the most honest expression of a culture. At Indus Folk, we serve those stories.”

Ancient grains and supergrains at the heart of our bases — low-GI, fibre-rich and sustaining. Jowar (sorghum), quinoa and oats khichdi keep energy steady all day.
Our tempered vegetable toppings are rich in beta-carotene, betalains and Vitamin C — vibrant colours that signal powerful antioxidant activity in every serving.
Woven into every marinade and masala — turmeric’s curcumin, ginger’s gingerol, and black pepper’s piperine work together to reduce inflammation and aid digestion.
Our legume toppings — rajma, channa and hyacinth beans — deliver substantial plant protein and fibre in every bowl. The backbone of Indian vegetarian nutrition.
Used judiciously in our khichdi and marinades — ghee supports fat-soluble vitamin absorption and gut health, while cold-pressed mustard oil adds heart-healthy Omega-3 ALA.
Our signature bowl toppings — chia, flax, sunflower, pumpkin and almond — boost Omega-3, magnesium and zinc with every sprinkle, adding crunch without compromising nutrition.
